Meet the Team
Q&A with the cynthia froid group
cynthia froid • REALTOR®, PRINCIPAL
WHAT IS A HIDDEN SKILL THAT YOU HAVE?
Many people don’t know that I am a scuba diver. I have been diving for about thirty years and have my Advanced Open Water certification. There is no greater freedom than being completely present under water with all the fish and coral. No cell phones, no email, just you, your tank and your dive master! Some of the best diving I’ve ever experienced is in Roatan, Honduras, and I’m excited to go back this spring with my family.
WHAT IS THE LAST SERIES THAT YOU HAVE BINGED?
I hate to admit it, but I couldn’t help but binge Emily in Paris. Many people know about my love affair with all things French, and although the series is pretty silly, I do love the Paris street scapes, the occasional spoken French and of course the over the top fashion.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR PET.
Our dog Louie is a six year old chocolate lab whom we love to pieces. He has been the best family dog we could have ever hoped for. Labs are so loyal and smart, and so gentle with kids and elderly people (my 103 year old granny loves Louie!). He is a great swimmer, great hunter, snuggler and protector!
WHAT IS A MISCONCEPTION ABOUT REAL ESTATE THAT YOU ENCOUNTER?
There is a misperception that this is such a glamorous profession, and all we do is prance around carrying designer bags while showing luxury properties. What people don’t see is the deals that fall apart, the months until pay day, and the missed family dinners. At the same time, this career has afforded me and my family some fantastic opportunities and I can’t imagine doing anything else!
HOW DO YOU TAKE YOUR COFFEE IN THE MORNING?
I actually have never been a coffee drinker. I am a tea gal!
RYAN PERTILE • REALTOR®
WHAT IS WAS YOUR NEW YEAR RESOLUTION?
To read one book per month.
WHAT BOOK ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
Give & Take by Adam Grant. The book is based on the three reciprocity styles that people fit into. Givers, Takers and Matchers. It discusses how Givers build larger, more supportive networks; inspire the most creativity from their colleagues; and achieve the most successful negotiations.
WHAT IS A CHALLENGE THAT YOU ARE EXCITED TO TACKLE?
I'm most excited about helping my clients find creative solutions to their specific real estate needs. Whether it's helping them find the right property or navigating the complexities of financing, I'm passionate about providing tailored solutions to the unique challenges they face. I'm also looking forward to leveraging my knowledge and experience to help my clients make informed decisions and achieve their goals.
WHAT IS YOUR PREDICTION FOR 2023?
I predict that the US housing markets in 2023 will continue to show incremental growth, as the economy rebounds from the impacts of the pandemic and wall street downturn. Additionally, I expect an increased use of technology and services to make the process of buying and selling properties more efficient. Finally, I anticipate increased stock and access to housing with the possibility of more affordable options on the horizon.
HOW DO YOU TAKE YOUR COFFEE IN THE MORNING?
Carmel Latte with a double shot.
SARAH MAUS • DIRECTOR OF SALES & NEW CONSTRUCTION, REALTOR®
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT YOUR JOB?
Working on a new development project like Four Seasons Private Residences has been so interesting, and it's definitely become my favorite part of the real estate world.
WHAT’S A MISCONCEPTION ABOUT REAL ESTATE THAT YOU ENCOUNTER?
Often people think working in real estate is all about showing houses, but I've found it's really all about people and relationships.
WHAT WAS THE SERIES THAT YOU BINGED?
My husband and I just finished re-watching (yes, re-watching) the entire series of Seinfeld. Which I highly recommend.
WHAT IS THE NEXT SHOW/CONCERT THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND?
Our favorite date night destination is to go to a stand up comedy show. A lot of good comedy names come to Minneapolis, and Acme Comedy is a great place to stop after dinner for a quick show.
HOW DO YOU TAKE YOUR COFFEE IN THE MORNING?
I like to make an oat milk latte at home for my first cup, to start the day slow and with intention.
ALLYSON BATIS • DIRECTOR OF CLIENT EXPERIENCES, REALTOR®
WHAT MAKES YOUR WORK INTERESTING?
At its core, so much of what we do at CFG is guided by the relationships we build. I have a background in hospitality, and I am always trying to think of how we can be better with the support and attention we offer to our clients during a very exciting, stressful time of their lives.
WHERE IS YOUR DREAM VACATION?
I have dozens! My husband and I are currently trying to plan a trip to Montreal with our daughter. We'll walk around, enjoy the architecture and history, but mostly eat.
WHAT IS YOUR NEW YEAR RESOLUTION?
To be more present, and to eat and make more dumplings.
WHICH CELEBRITY WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO MEET?
I would love to follow Janelle Monae around for a day.
HOW DO YOU TAKE YOUR MORNING COFFEE?
In vast quantities, with a splash of cream or oat milk.
NIKKI KLOCKER • DIRECTOR OF MARKETING
WHY CFG?
Cindy is someone that I have looked up to. What she built, her achievements and the way she is constantly giving back to the Minneapolis Community. My background comes from marketing in fine dining, the Cynthia Froid Group has the same level of high standards that I love and am accustomed to. I have a very busy, creative brain and the fast pace of downtown luxury real estate keeps me feeling energized and fulfilled.
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
Menus. Constantly. If you and I have reservations together tonight, next week, next month or next year, I have memorized the menu and have a mock up of what I am ordering in my head. Menus are my love language.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR PET.
I have an Italian Greyhound named Mortica (Tish, Tosh, Tish-Tosh, Tish-Tosh-Applesauce, Morticianstien). She is nine years young and is a retired supermodel. At least that is what she wants me to tell people.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SPORTS TEAM?
My favorite season is football season. I am a diehard Vikings fan. I grew up watching my Dad play baseball, football and basketball. That transitioned into him coaching. So sports have always been a huge part of my life. Every football Sunday I have ongoing messages with both of my parents, cheering for our favorite team and that makes my heart happy (even when the Vikings disappoint).
HOW DO YOU TAKE YOUR MORNING COFFEE?
I take it two ways and typically only drink it during the work week. I am an early riser so my first cup is at 5am with oat milk. My second cup is when I arrive at the office and that is where I treat myself. Coffee with brown sugar oat milk creamer.
