What Makes Her Tick? Meet The Team - Q&A with Sarah Maus
Our multi-talented executive admin Sarah Maus sat down to give us some insight behind the scenes in her fast-paced life. Read more to find out what makes her tick:
Q: Would you rather be on a beach or at a cabin?
A: Cabin. I grew up spending summers at my family's cabin and feel so at home there at the lake and in the woods. You can't beat that in the summertime, or enjoying the fall colors by the fireside. Although a beach vacation would have been pretty nice this past winter!
Q: How did you end up in the real estate world?
A: I actually have a background in architecture. That's what I went to school for but I graduated during the housing recession so I found my way into the home remodeling industry instead. I started out working at a joint real estate & construction company, and I've been connected to real estate ever since. I still design renovations from time to time and I love helping people redesign their kitchens and bathrooms in my free time.
Q: What is something most people don't know about you?
A: I'm from Wisconsin originally but have lived in Minneapolis for 16 years. I grew up in a small town in the country but love living in the city now and I couldn't imagine living or raising my family anywhere else.
Q: What's the scariest thing you've ever done?
A: I bought my first house by myself when I was 26, and it was a boarded-up, unlivable, foreclosed house that needed a ton of work. I threw myself into the project of fixing it up by myself, even though I didn't really know what I was doing. I learned so much and had so much fun, but there were times that I wondered what I had gotten myself into!
Q: What are you most proud of?
A: My 9-month old son, Finn. He is such a joy and I am so proud to be his mother. People may remember when I went on maternity leave last year, and I can happily say that I am loving parenthood!
